ePrix: Press release by the Prince’s Government

In accordance with the instructions of Prince Albert II, issued in response to the request presented to him by the organisers of the ePrix, the Prince’s Government studied all options which would enable a further race in this series to be hosted in Monaco on 4 June.

True to the tradition of excellence in event organisation in Monaco, the Government, working with all stakeholders and particularly the Automobile Club of Monaco, has considered all possible scenarios to enable the event to go ahead.

In a spirit of full collaboration and with concern for the safety and credibility of the various events being hosted during June, the public and private partners have reviewed all options for installing and dismantling structures, organising equipment and scheduling.

The Government is forced to conclude that the technical challenge, the sequence of planned events and the incompressible constraints of the schedule unfortunately mean that it is not possible to hold this event under satisfactory conditions.

Consequently, the Prince’s Government notes that hosting the ePrix, assuming that the Moscow stage is cancelled, is not feasible within the timeframe.

Discussions with the Formula E promoter are ongoing in order that the ePrix can once again be held in Monaco.
