On Monday 3 October 2016, at the Euranet+ editorial board meeting, which is being held at the Novotel in Monaco until Tuesday 4 October, the Minister of State met the 25 editors-in-chief and European programme managers of the network’s member radio stations. The Minister was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Gilles Tonelli, and Isabelle Costa, Deputy Secretary-General of the Government in charge of the EU Coordination Unit.

Serge Telle talked to the journalists about Monaco’s approach to the European Union with a view to establishing an association agreement, explaining that “if Monaco reaches a political framework with Europe, this could happen very quickly, but we have time. We don’t want an agreement, we want a good agreement.”

Euranet+ is a consortium of European national and international radio stations created in 2007 with support from the European Commission. The network’s objective is to provide a pan-European view of EU news.

The annual meeting of editors-in-chief and European programme managers from each member of the network provides an opportunity to coordinate content.

The goal of bringing together these information chiefs in the Principality was to raise awareness among managing editors from 16 European countries about the negotiations currently under way between the Principality and the European Union with a view to establishing an association agreement, and to enhance their understanding, on the ground, of the specificities of Monaco.
