Time spent abroad - a valuable asset

International experience is part of Monaco's culture. Around 120 nationalities live in harmony in the Principality, and exchanges take place on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, the Monegasques are naturally open to world cultures, and return from abroad rich with different and complementary perspectives and experiences. The excellent Monegasque schools system opens the doors for young people to many leading schools and universities, including in France, Britain and the United States.

In this context, the Prince’s Government places great importance on encouraging young people to gain experience abroad. One example is the YMS, or Youth Mobility Scheme. As a result of this Agreement, young nationals aged from 18 to 30 can now benefit from a visa allowing them entry to British territory for a maximum period of two years, to gain professional experience.

Moreover, during their future working life, training and experience gained from a stay abroad are widely recognised, including by the Administration.
