Forward planning

Tracing the path for an examplary Principality for future generations

Upon his accession in 2005, H.S.H. Prince Albert II traced out the profile of a “model country and a country model”. The Prince's Government's mission is to implement that vision. Whilst it takes action on a daily basis, the Government also utilises forward planning tools that are so essential in a modern State.

In the Sovereign's roadmap for the future, forward planning involves society as well as social and economic issues, and covers all aspects of business and daily life in Monaco. Maximising existing potential, meeting the needs of the population and continuing with the existing programs are solutions brought forward to be in harmony with the objective of building a sustainable town.

In June 2011 the Prince's Government therefore created the Strategic Council for Attractiveness (CSA) (  Ordinance no. 3.273 of 25 May 2011 establishing the Strategic Council for Attractiveness )

In addition, the Department of Forward Planning provides the Prince's Government with all the tools necessary to put this ambitious policy into effect and directs the Principality's urban development policy. Work is constantly carried out to improve economic growth, whilst preserving quality of life and preparing sustainable mobility strategies.
