Celebrating 20 years of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince's reign: what pedestrian and traffic arrangements will be in place?

©Direction de la Communication

The celebration of the 20th anniversary of the reign of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, on Saturday 19 July 2025, at the Prince's Palace of Monaco, open to Monegasques from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, will involve changes for pedestrians, motorists and public transport.

Therefore, on 19 July, from 12 pm, the Prince's Palace will be cordoned off, with traffic restrictions in place until 4pm. Access to Monaco-Ville via the Rampe Major will remain open, as will access to all shops located at the end of Rue Basse, Rue Comte Félix Gastaldi and Rue Emile de Loth.

From 4pm onwards, access to the Prince's Palace will be restricted to authorised vehicles only. Pedestrian access will be limited and only permitted to those holding an access pass.

From 5.30pm to 6.30pm, all guests may approach the checkpoints (at the start of the Rampe Major and in the three streets leading to the Prince's Palace: Rue Basse, Rue Comte Félix Gastaldi, Rue Emile de Loth) with their invitation card, Monegasque identity card or resident card for spouses of Monegasques.

To access Monaco-Ville, authorised vehicles will still be able to use Avenue de la Porte-Neuve. CAM bus services will continue to operate as usual, free of charge across the entire network on that day.

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco will remain open, as will the Chemin des Pêcheurs car park.

The Petit Train will run from 5.30pm to 6pm, making regular trips up to the Rocher.

For those with reduced mobility only, it is still possible to obtain a Rocher access permit for vehicles from Monaco City Hall (protocole@mairie.mc or +377 93 15 29 19). This permit authorises drop-offs before 6pm only.

Please note: Visits to the Prince's Palace will be closed from 5pm to 11pm between 17 and 20 July inclusive, and there will be no Changing of the Guard between 15 and 20 July inclusive.
