On Tuesday 9 June, the Tourist and Convention Authority, in collaboration with its hotel partners from SMB, Hotel Fairmont and Hotel Metropole, launched Monaco Week at Salone Monaco. The week, devoted entirely to promoting the Principality in China, was organised by Monaco’s Ambassador to China in partnership with Blu Inc Media and the Shanghai Yacht Club. Monaco Week began in Shanghai then, for the first time, continued with two days in Beijing.

A Monegasque delegation* led by H.E. Ms Catherine Fautrier presented the different aspects of the Principality’s appeal, giving the guests, selected on the basis of the week’s themes (tourism, environment, the economy and yachting), a chance to learn about the unique features Monaco has to offer in these varied fields. Representatives from the private sector, including Rosemont, Moore Stephens, Diva, Lifeplus, Versace and Savills, joined the Economic Development Chamber to share their experiences of Monaco’s economy. Similarly, for the day focused on yachting, several members of the Super Yacht Business Association (SYBASS) were there alongside teams from the Monaco Yacht Show and the Yacht Club de Monaco.

In addition, Mr Patrice Franck, Head Sommelier at the Hotel de Paris, and Mr Jacky Oberti, Chef at the Thermes Marins restaurant, took part in the event in Shanghai for the first time.
Mr Oberti created the menus for the business dinner and for the gala evening, which was this year attended by almost 250 VIP guests.

The final aspect of Monaco Week 2015 concluded in Beijing. There, the Economic Development Chamber met several representatives from the public and from the private sector, who will be able to help the Chamber organise an economic mission to the Chinese capital from 9 to 11 November 2015.

*The delegation was made up of representatives from the Tourist and Convention Authority, the Prince Albert II Foundation, the Economic Development Chamber, the Monaco Yacht Show and the Yacht Club de Monaco.
