Season 1 of Matrice Smart-City Monaco hackathon draws to close
As part of thinking about the future of Monaco, the Prince’s Government has entered into a partnership with Matrice, an École 42 entrepreneurship programme in Paris (www.42.fr/matrice/ ), with the aim of developing a smart city in Monaco.
For the first season, following a 15-day immersion in the Principality, around 30 students from a number of countries considered ways to enrich the tourist experience in Monaco using new technologies. They recently came back together at 42 for a hackathon designed to generate ideas and concepts. These were presented yesterday to a multidisciplinary panel chaired by Minister of State Serge Telle.
The students whose proposals were selected by the panel will now have nine months to refine their projects and then establish their own start-up to implement them and help build a smart city in Monaco.
