Reading Marathon - Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation
The Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation has just launched its Reading Marathon, held in connection with the Literary Prizes. This event will enable lovers of contemporary literature to familiarise themselves with the authors shortlisted by the Literary Council for the 2019 Literary Prize and Discovery Grant.
At its meeting on 14 May 2019, the Literary Council shortlisted the following writers for the Literary Prize, which is awarded to a French-speaking author for his or her work as a whole:
Christian BOBIN
Linda LÊ
Pierre MICHON
Jean ROUAUD
The following authors were also shortlisted for the Discovery Grant, which is a prize awarded to a French-speaking author for a first work of fiction:
Christine Barthe, Que va-t-on faire de Knut Hamsun? (What Shall We Do with Knut Hamsun?*) Editions Robert Laffont
Jérôme Bastianelli, La Vraie Vie de Vinteuil (The Real Life of Vinteuil) Editions Grasset
Grégory Le Floch, Dans la forêt du hameau de Hardt (In the Forest of the Hamlet of Hardt) Editions de l’Ogre
Joseph Ponthus, A la ligne (To the Line) Editions Table Ronde
Sylvain Ouillon, Les jours (The Days) Editions Gallimard
All these books are available in libraries in Monaco and the Côte d'Azur that are taking part in the Reading Marathon from 18 June to 30 August 2019.
The winners of the Prince Pierre Foundation Prizes will be announced on Tuesday 15 October 2019 at the Salle Garnier.
