Serge Telle Visits the Monaco Scientific Centre
The Minister of State visited the Monaco Scientific Centre (CSM) today. He talked to Professor Patrick Rampal, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Denis Allemand, Scientific Director and the various researchers present, and was able to find out about the varied work of the CSM's three research departments.
The CSM was founded in 1960 and is a public establishment of the Principality, under the aegis of the Ministry of Interior. In particular, for almost 30 years, thanks to concerted efforts by two research teams, it has been furthering research into the biology of reef-building corals and related organisms.
On 3 and 4 December, the Monaco Scientific Centre will host a "Reef Solutions" workshop, which will be attended by the world's leading experts on coral. This workshop will be followed on 5, 6 and 7 December by the General Meeting of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI).
