APIdays - National Awareness Days for Bees, Environmental Sentinels – 2025 edition

The Principality of Monaco has been working with the French National Union of Beekeeping (UNAF) since 2011 on the 'Bees, Environmental Sentinels' programme.

As part of this programme, several beehives have been set up in various locations across Monaco. Thanks to a remote monitoring device, valuable data on these insects, which are essential to biodiversity, is recorded.

Bees, like all pollinating insects, are under increasing threat from pesticide use, monoculture, climate change and the emergence of predators such as the Asian hornet.

To raise public awareness of the essential role of bees and the need to protect them, the Department of Urban Amenities will be celebrating APIdays on Friday 13 June and Saturday 14 June 2025, from 9am to 5pm, at the UNESCO Garden, at the Fontvieille terraces. This year's theme is 'Bees and Flowers, a Love Worth Saving.'

There will be free activities for all ages, including:
Honey harvesting and beeswax candle-making workshops, discover the world of beekeeping through educational activities and games. A fun and educational programme for the whole family!

Come and discover the fascinating world of bees!
