Pasteur development : videos illustrate changes to traffic circulation

Following completion of the Jardins d’Apolline and Helios state-owned buildings on the Rainier III and Canton city blocks, the Government is pressing ahead with development of the land around the former railway line on the Ilot Pasteur plot. 

The project requires changes to traffic circulation, while ensuring that major routes remain accessible: Monaco’s entry and exit points, access to Avenue Pasteur towards Princess Grace Hospital, the exit towards the Rainier III tunnel for Nice, and access to Boulevard du Larvotto in the direction of Menton. 

So that everyone using these access and exit roads in the Principality understands how the changes to traffic circulation will take shape over time, three videos with computer-generated images have been produced, one for each phase of this major project.

By 2020, the Pasteur development will host:

• a new secondary school (collège) and associated annexes (swimming pool, gymnasium and auditorium)
• a postal sorting office
• a transfer centre for recyclable waste
• the new Espace Léo Ferré
• a data centre
• the new municipal multimedia library
• the Department of Education, Youth and Sport
• an office complex and a car park with 900 spaces
