Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, has taken part in the 40th extraordinary session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, held on 16 March 2022.

H.E. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of La Francophonie, expressed her solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the terrible events they are experiencing, and said she hoped La Francophonie could speak with one voice. To conclude the Conference, the member States and Governments therefore adopted a resolution on Ukraine.

The issue of the information revolution was raised, as were its consequences for democracy, especially during the current crisis in Ukraine.

During his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation praised the efforts of the International Organisation of La Francophonie to complete its transformation and modernisation process, which began at the 36th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, held in Monaco in October 2019.

The Tunisian delegation concluded the 40th Session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie with an updated presentation on the preparations for the 18th Summit. Due to take place on 19 November 2022 in Djerba (Tunisia), the event will focus on “Connectivity in diversity: digital technology, a vector of development and solidarity in the French-speaking world”.
