Diplomacy: accreditation of new ambassadors from Costa Rica – Lesotho – Mauritania

On Tuesday 15 March, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Isabelle Rosabrunetto, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Mr Ronald Flores Vega, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Costa Rica; H.E. Ms Senate Barbara Masupha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Lesotho; and H.E. Mr Ahmed Bahiya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The diplomats presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.

H.E. Mr Ronald Flores Vega joined Costa Rica’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport in 1979, occupying a variety of posts relating to transport planning, the environment and urban development until 2013. He served as a Parliamentary Counsellor to the Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2010, and was appointed Costa Rica’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy in 2018.

Having begun her diplomatic career in 2000, H.E. Ms Senate Barbara Masupha served as Lesotho’s Chargée d’Affaires in Italy and then Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2011 to 2013, before taking up post as Consultant for Research, Policy Development and International Relations from 2014 to 2020. She is currently Lesotho’s Ambassador to Germany, France, Russia, Poland, the Holy See and Austria.

H.E. Mr Ahmed Bahiya has more than 30 years of experience in education, scientific research and senior administration in Mauritania. He was Secretary-General of the University of Nouakchott in 2009, and has also served as Minister of Secondary and Higher Education (from 2009 to 2011) and then as Minister of State for National Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research. From 2013 to 2019, he was Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Mauritania. He is currently Mauritania’s Ambassador to France, Portugal, Monaco, Andorra and the Holy See.
