As part of the UNESCO Francophone Group, the Principality of Monaco’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, took advantage of the staging of Monegasque author Alain Pastor’s play Rêve de Mercier (Mercier’s Dream) in Paris to invite several ambassadors to attend a performance of the work on 24 March 2022. She then invited them to her residence for a discussion with the author.

The permanent representatives from Germany, Andorra, France, Italy and Tunisia attended the performance of Rêve de Mercier at the Théâtre de la Contrescarpe in the fifth arrondissement of the French capital.

Due to its role in education and promoting the diversity of cultural expression, literature is a key theme for UNESCO and something that the Principality has long supported.

Alain Pastor is an Officer of the Order of Saint Charles and the Order of Cultural Merit. He is a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms. In 2017, he was recognised by the Order of Arts and Letters for his commitment to the French language.
