Monaco joins @ON operational network to counter organised crime
A delegation from the Italian Anti-Mafia Investigation Department (DIA) visited the Principality on 4 April 2025 to finalise Monaco’s involvement in the @ON project, a European transnational cooperation initiative aimed at countering mafia-style organised crime and transnational criminal networks.
The @ON project was launched in 2018 and is coordinated by Europol and Eurojust. It enables police forces in member states to share strategic information, coordinate operational activities and quickly mobilise specialist investigators on the ground.
The agreement between the DIA, represented by Lieutenant General Michele Carbone, and the Police Department, represented by Police Commissioner Eric Arella, was signed at the offices of the Monaco Police Department, in the presence of Her Excellency Ms Anne Eastwood, the Monegasque Ambassador to Italy, and Her Excellency Ms Manuela Ruosi, the Italian Ambassador to Monaco.
In joining this network, the Principality of Monaco is demonstrating its commitment to making an active contribution to the fight against organised crime, by strengthening its investigative capabilities with a new strategic and operational tool.
