Meeting of the State Housing Commission

The State Housing Commission convened at the Ministry of State on 25 January 2023 for a meeting chaired by Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy.

At the meeting, for which a call for applications was published from 29 August to 23 September 2022, 304 homes were allocated, including apartments within the Tour Réséda and Honoria developments, apartments in the upward extension of the Mélèzes building, and newly renovated apartments.

This is a reflection of the significant efforts undertaken by the Government, at the initiative of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, to provide housing for Monegasque nationals with particularly high fulfilment rates (more than two thirds of applications were fulfilled across all types of apartment).

The meeting of the State Housing Commission on 14 June 2022 had already allocated 212 apartments, and those in the pipeline, which also represent a significant number of homes, will enable the majority of future applications to be fulfilled.

These figures are a genuine source of satisfaction and the result of efforts made by all of the relevant government departments and substantial funding of more than 1 billion euro for the period 2019–2023, including 286 million euro in the 2023 budget, for housing construction.

In addition to the considerable numbers involved, the Government would like to emphasise the quality of these apartments. It will continue to work alongside the National Council to ensure that Monegasque applicants can be housed in the best possible conditions.
