Isabelle Berro-Amadeï gives first New Year address to diplomatic corps accredited in Principality and resident in France
On Friday 20 January 2023, in Paris, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, delivered a New Year address on behalf of herself and the Prince’s Government to ambassadors accredited to the Principality of Monaco and resident in France.
This was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation’s first meeting with senior representatives from more than 90 countries, who were invited to attend by H.E. Christophe Steiner, the Principality of Monaco’s Ambassador to France.
In a deeply concerning geopolitical context, given the conflict in Ukraine and the security, climate, food and energy crises, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation was keen to emphasise Monaco’s international commitment to the most vulnerable and in favour of a fair, inclusive and sustainable society.
Highlighting the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the Principality’s accession to the United Nations this year, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï recalled Monaco’s loyalty to and confidence in multilateralism as a means of working together to tackle shared challenges and identify solutions for dialogue.
This message, which was intended to further strengthen the bonds of trust and friendship between the Principality and 156 states, received a particularly warm reception, as demonstrated by the fact that the event was so well attended.
