Coronavirus: A Sample Proves Positive

©Direction de la Communication

The Principality's health authorities have been informed that a person seen by medical staff in the morning and taken to the Princess Grace Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19.

While awaiting the results of the sample taken, the patient was placed in isolation in the unit dedicated by the establishment for this purpose.

The patient's state of health does not give any cause for concern.

In accordance with the provisions agreed between the two countries and the inter-hospital agreements, the patient is being transferred to the Infectious Diseases Department of the University Hospital of Nice.

A close contact of the patient (one person) has been confined to their home and is being cared for in line with the procedures laid down by the Principality of Monaco.

An epidemiological investigation has been launched to find out about the patient's movements over the last few days and identify the people with whom he may have been in contact.

The Prince's Government is maintaining the precautionary measures announced over the past two days.
