Minister of Finance and Economy Jean Castellini today opened the Art and Finance Conference 2019. The conference is organised by Deloitte, which selected the Principality to host the twelfth event.

According to Jean Castellini, “there is no better place in the world to talk about this topic than Monaco, where artists live and flourish, where collectors own some exceptional works, and where private bankers have expertise that enables them to advise highly demanding clients on managing and diversifying their assets.”

“Today, art has become a genuine market, and interaction between artists, collectors, investors, auction houses and new technologies is the key to success,” he emphasised in an introduction to this conference devoted to the emerging art industry.

Before an audience of 350 participants from 28 countries, international experts and local stakeholders addressed a variety of subjects, including collecting art in an era of greater transparency, art on yachts, the development of the art market through to 2030, technology in service of art, and the impact of virtual reality on private museums.
