Monaco Foundation in Paris gets revamp
On 15 February, a Monegasque delegation was invited for an official tour of the Monaco Foundation in Paris show home at the University of Paris International Campus by the Campus’ General Delegation. The delegates had the opportunity to view the new standard studio, which is equipped with a kitchenette and a spacious shower room.
The Monaco Foundation in Paris is undergoing an ambitious energy-efficiency upgrade programme as part of the University of Paris International Campus Revitalisation Plan, funded by the French State and the European Union. The aim is to reduce energy consumption by 40% by 2030, compared with 2010 levels.
To demonstrate its commitment to this iconic building, the Principality of Monaco decided, in conjunction with the Campus, to add to the programme described above by funding the renovation of the building’s facades and repairing the roof. An additional financial contribution from the Principality will also help to increase the number of studios equipped with kitchenettes to 28, responding to a wish that is often expressed by students.
This substantial work will take place in five phases and continue until 2024. The work will cover the Foundation’s 77 rooms, the grand lounge and the two shared kitchens, which will be extended (improvement of internal insulation, upgrading of acoustics and of comfort in living spaces).
These two projects are being implemented through close collaboration between the Campus’ Assets Department and the Principality of Monaco’s Public Buildings Maintenance Office.
