Trade Observatory: rapid introduction of concrete measures
The second plenary session of the Trade Observatory to be held this year took place on Friday 29 November 2019, under the chairmanship of Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy.
Led by Laurence Garino from the Welcome Office, the meeting provided an opportunity for constructive discussion of various issues of concern by the many Monegasque traders who attended, representing the main districts and shopping centres, as well as representatives from the National Council, Monaco City Hall, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, the Strategic Council for Attractiveness, the Chambre Immobilière Monégasque, the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), the Monegasque Hospitality Industry Association, the Monaco Union of Traders and Artisans and relevant government departments.
The Trade Observatory is a genuinely collaborative body, whose objective is to identify measures that could be taken in the short, medium and long terms to give a fresh boost to Monegasque trade. It is also a chance for participants to generate synergy and share their experiences.
At the end of the discussion forum, Jean Castellini expressed his hope that concrete measures would be rapidly introduced to support the revitalisation of retailers and enable them to offer the Principality’s various clienteles ever greater quality in a highly competitive sector.
