SICCFIN receives honour from Egmont Group

The Service d’Information et de Contrôle des Circuits Financiers (SICCFIN), the Principality’s financial intelligence unit (FIU), took part in the 28^th Plenary of the Egmont Group, held from 10 to 14 July this year in Riga (Latvia).

The Egmont Group is an international organisation whose role is to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. To this end, it provides training courses and mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation between FIUs at the global level.

During this year’s Plenary, the Monegasque delegation, led by Ms Karine Borgheresi, received “an Egmont Group certificate of appreciation” in recognition of the quality of cooperation and contributions made by Monaco’s FIU to the work of the Egmont Group, and for organising the Financial Cooperation Forum for the Egmont Group Circle of Francophone FIUs last November.
