Monaco Statistics marks tenth anniversary

Monaco Statistics (IMSEE) and the Scientific Council for Statistics and Economic Studies were established on 24 January 2011.

With a mandate to promote knowledge of the Principality’s economic and social environment, Monaco Statistics has, since it was founded, put in place a statistical information system that uses international classifications. This makes it possible to analyse economic activity and development in the Principality, and to rank Monaco in relation to other countries.

For the last 10 years, Monaco Statistics has worked to provide the Prince’s Government and the general public with clear, accurate figures produced by qualified staff, operating entirely independently and in strict compliance with ethical principles. This work contributes fully to the joint effort on attractiveness and to informing public policies.

Over the course of a decade, Monaco Statistics has published 102 Focus reports by sector or theme, 67 Quarterly Economic Bulletins, 62 Retail Trade Barometers, 45 Observatories, 10 Monaco in Figures reports and 10 GDP reports. It has also conducted a population census (2016), two iterations of the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD), and studies on housing, population, the economic benefits of the Grand Prix, and many other issues.
