Monaco Post Office is Trialling an Automated Tracking Robot
For the past 15 days, Monaco Post Office has been trialling an automated tracking robot. To improve the working conditions of its staff, Monaco Post Office hopes to provide its postal delivery workers with a tracking robot known as ALF*. This will enable packages and letters to be carried and will be available in several different formats.
ALF is configured to follow the postal delivery worker at a distance of 50 cm, using the "follow-me" mode, based on recognition of the delivery worker's legs. In addition, the tracking robot being tested has a volume of 1m³.
These automated tracking robots will initially be used in the eastern part of the Principality of Monaco (Boulevard des Moulins and Boulevard d'Italie, among other areas). The fleet will comprise five robots by 2020.
You can follow this report on Monaco Info and on our social media networks.
