The 57th Plenary Meeting of the MONEYVAL Committee, the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), took place from 3 to 7 December in Strasbourg.

The Principality was represented at this meeting by an enlarged delegation comprised of Philippe Boisbouvier, Jean-Marc Gualandi, Technical Advisor, Louis Danty, Karine Imbert and Alison Gérard.  The main task of this team is to prepare the Principality of Monaco's forthcoming 5th evaluation round and its second National Risk Assessment.

At this plenary session, in addition to examining the 5th round evaluation reports on the Czech Republic and Lithuania, the Monegasque delegation watched several presentations aimed at helping participants to better understand and effectively and efficiently implement the FATF's recommendations on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

During this week of work, the Monegasque delegation to the MONEYVAL Committee was received by Rémi Mortier, Ambassador of the Principality to the Council of Europe.

This working visit was also an opportunity for Monegasque representatives to take part in a meeting of the "Group of Small States" of the MONEYVAL Committee (San Marino, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Andorra, etc.) and in a working meeting of the "Europe 2" working group of the Egmont Group.
