Partnership between the Prince's Government and Sciences Po Awareness-Raising Session on Aid for Development
The 2016 Winter School, organised by the Department of International Cooperation, was held on the Middle East – Mediterranean Campus of the Sciences Po in Menton from 18 to 22 January, with the aim of raising first-year students' awareness of development aid issues
The week began with a day devoted to international humanitarian law, led by Frédéric Joli, spokesperson of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Internationally renowned photographer Nick Danziger gave a lecture on his work "Eleven Women Facing War" in association with the ICRC, illustrating the issues surrounding international humanitarian activities and law today.
The rest of the week consisted of presenting those involved in aid for development and the setting up and management of international solidarity projects with the Bioforce Institute, a training reference centre for careers in solidarity and development.
A hundred or so first-year students from twenty-five different nationalities took part in the 2016 Winter School.
As a reminder, the aim of the partnership agreement signed in September 2014 for a period of three years between the Prince's Government and the Paris Institute of Political Studies is to raise the awareness of students at the Middle East – Mediterranean Campus, who are future decision-makers in their countries of origin, of international development issues.
