Monaco Takes Part in the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme

This new strategy is in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in particular Sustainable Development Goal No. 2, "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture" and No. 17, "Partnerships for achieving the goals," which are central to the WFP's mandate.

As a side-event of the session, H.E. Mr. Robert Fillon, Ambassador of Monaco to Italy, Permanent Representative to the FAO/WFP, accompanied by Ms. Martine Garcia, Deputy Alternate Representative to the FAO/WFP, met with Ms. Adama Diop Faye, the new Director of the WFP's liaison office in France, who is also responsible for the partnership with the Principality of Monaco.

The Principality of Monaco's commitment to the WFP is reflected both in support for various multi-annual programmes aimed at strengthening the resilience of vulnerable populations to food security and nutrition (Burundi, Madagascar and Mauritania) and a reiterated response to urgent appeals (Madagascar and Mauritania).
