Monaco takes part in the Global Vaccine Impact Conference organised by the Gavi Alliance and the Government of Spain in Madrid
A Monegasque delegation, comprising of H.E. Ms Catherine Fautrier-Rousseau, Monaco’s Ambassador to Spain, and Ms Emilie Silvestre, Programme Coordinator of the Department of International Cooperation, attended the Global Vaccine Impact Conference, organised by the Gavi Alliance and the Government of Spain from 13 to 15 June in Madrid. The event was an opportunity for the delegation to meet with the main stakeholders of the Alliance, of which the Principality became a member in 2016.
The Gavi Alliance is a public-private fund established to finance, purchase and deliver vaccines, particularly in the most disadvantaged countries. The Gavi Alliance played a fundamental role during the COVID-19 pandemic with the implementation of the COVAX programme.
The conference was an opportunity to take stock of this unprecedented health crisis and examine in detail how to implement a worldwide vaccination management system to enable the eradication of certain diseases and more effectively anticipate the outbreak of pandemics in the future.
