Monaco’s New Permanent Representative presents his credentials to the Council of Europe
On 7 June 2023, H.E. Mr Gabriel Revel, Monaco’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, presented his credentials to Ms Marija Pejcinovic Buric, the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, at the organisation’s headquarters in Strasbourg.
The ceremony was followed by a private meeting during which the Ambassador highlighted the importance of the Council for the Principality. They discussed the 20th anniversary of Monaco’s membership on the Council, which will be celebrated in 2024, as well as the next Presidency of the Committee of Ministers, which Monaco will hold from May to November 2026.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General praised the Principality’s commitment to supporting the activities of the Council of Europe and its support for the values of the organisation, as demonstrated by its participation in the Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Reykjavik last month, and by its recent signature of the Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
