Horizon Europe project

Projet Horizon Europe

As part of Horizon Europe, the European Union’s key funding programme for research and innovation, Stéphan Bruno, Director of the Business Development Agency, and François-Xavier Le Clerc, Head of the Financing and Economic Development Division, are travelling to Brussels for a meeting with the European Commission on 6 July.

Following discussions initiated a few months ago between the Prince's Government and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, it is now possible for businesses and organisations in the Principality to participate in calls for research and development projects launched as part of the Horizon Europe programme.

Eligible Monegasque businesses will now be able to get involved with collaborative research and development projects thanks to the co-financing mechanism operated by the Principality of Monaco and the European Commission.

As a result of a study which aimed to determine the “potential of Monegasque businesses to respond to European Commission calls for research and development projects and to identify topics of shared interest to Monaco and Europe”, the Prince’s Government has selected the following four themes:

- Energy
- Health
- The bioeconomy
- Digital technology

This meeting will be an opportunity to present the process that the Business Development Agency will use to pre-validate projects, and to finalise the process for implementing the scheme.

This new scheme will supplement the tools available for helping Monegasque businesses to grow and innovate, and is a key factor in the dynamism and economic development of the Principality.
