H.E. Mr Philippe Orengo, the Principality’s Ambassador to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta, is made Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX

To mark the twelfth anniversary of his Pontificate, Pope Francis decreed that H.E. Mr Philippe Orengo, Ambassador of the Principality to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta, be awarded the grade of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX, the highest distinction conferred by the Holy See to ambassadors accredited there.

Having been authorised by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince to accept this prestigious honour, H.E. Mr Orengo was presented with it at a ceremony held in the Sala dei Paramenti at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State.
