Award of Medals of the Sovereign Order of Malta
The ceremony to award the Knightly Orders pro Merito Melitensi of the Sovereign Order of Malta was held on 2 December 2024.
H.E. Mr Alberto Di Luca, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Monaco, after mentioning the long-standing ties between the Principality and the Order, awarded the Knightly Order pro Merito Melitensi cross with plaque to Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and the Knightly Order pro Merito Melitensi cross with crown to Ms Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Ms Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations.
In a speech following the ceremony, Ms Berro-Amadeï highlighted the “strengthening of ties created with the establishment of official relations between the Principality and the Sovereign Order of Malta in 1957 and diplomatic ties in 2007, illustrating the shared values and objectives on the international scene, particularly in the fight against poverty, disease and inequality”.
Mr Christophe Steiner, Chief of Staff to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, H.E. Mr Jean d’Haussonville, Ambassador of France to Monaco, Mr Marc Lecourt, President of the Association of Honorary Consuls of Monaco and Slovenia’s Honorary Consul General in Monaco, and Mr Jean Kerwat, President of the Association of the Order of Malta in Monaco and Croatia’s Honorary Consul in Monaco, also attended the event.
Established in 1920, the Knightly Order pro Merito Melitensi recognises merit in activities that bring honour and prestige to the Sovereign Order of Malta.
These awards highlight the cooperation between the Prince’s Government and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
