A delegation from Macao visits the Principality

A delegation from the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (China) visited the Principality on 8 and 9 March 2025 as part of its European tour.

The delegation from this autonomous region of the People's Republic of China was led by Mr Tai Kin Ip, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Government, accompanied by several senior officials, including the Directors of the Office of Economic and Technological Development, the Tourism Office and the Study Centre of the University of Macao.

Several Macanese business leaders specialising in high technology, artificial intelligence and telecommunications joined the official delegation.

The Macanese hotel and casino group Galaxy Entertainment Group, a strategic partner of the Société des Bains de Mer in the Asia-Pacific region since 2017, was also represented by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Buddy Lam.

The members of the delegation engaged in discussions with representatives of the Ministries of Finance and Economy, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Attractiveness Department, the Tourist and Convention Authority and the Monaco Economic Board over a friendly dinner hosted by H.E. Ms Marie-Pascale Boisson, Monaco's Ambassador to China.

During the visit, the Macanese officials also had a chance to meet with Monegasque business leaders from the technological innovation sector.

At the end of the visit, Mr Tai Kin Ip pointed out the meeting marked a step forward in strengthening the existing relations between Monaco and Macao.
