Monaco - Saint Martin Cave

Paleolithic Marmot skull, discovered in the Saint-Martin Cave. Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology.

Located in the Saint-Martin Gardens, not far from the Oceanographic Museum, the Saint Martin Cave has often been visited by man, as the bones of hunted animals which were found there prove. Recently, a perfectly preserved marmot skull was found there, which would indicate a cold climate. Numerous other species such as dear, horses, bears and panthers were also found.
