Success for the 16th European Mobility Week
Last week, on the initiative of the Department of the Environment, Monaco took part in the 16th European Mobility Week. A mobility festival was held at Larvotto Beach this weekend in connection with this event.
These two days were a great success – members of the public undertook numerous test drives of electric vehicles, such as bicycles, Mobees and other two- and four-wheeled vehicles.
There were also recreational and sporting workshops for the youngest visitors. A fun, educational game to raise awareness of the different types of mobility (cars, bikes, buses and walking) was offered for younger children, while older children could compete in various challenges – "The Mobility race," "Draw Your City," "Describe Your Life by Bike," "Who Walks the Most?," "Acrobats in Town," "A Song for the Planet," "Energy Hunt," etc.
In addition, on the Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Avenue Princesse Grace was partially closed to vehicles powered by internal combustion, to enable people on bikes, roller skates and skateboards to circulate around an area of Larvotto that had been made safe for the occasion.
