Start of the 2019 Autumn Term for Students of the IFSI and IFAS

First-year students of the Nursing Training Institute (IFSI) and the Care Assistant Training Institute (IFAS) started their new autumn term this Tuesday in the presence of Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Benoite de Sevelinges, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital and Monique Le Du, Director of the IFSI.

Didier Gamerdinger congratulated the students who had joined the IFSI.  This year, for the first time, entry was no longer via a competition, but through the Parcours Sup selection process, in which 27 candidates were selected out of the 2,500 who had submitted an application:

"This shows great keenness and motivation!  I strongly encourage you in your choice.  We will train you in this occupation because we are preparing your future; listening, attentiveness and good conduct are the hallmarks of the nursing profession.  Be efficient and professional and give the best of yourself."

Another innovation for 2019-2020 is the introduction of a uniform consisting of a red polo shirt for the IFSI and a blue one for the IFAS, to enable patients to distinguish between professionals and students.  It also helps the students to assume their new role from their first year.
