Outstanding results for the Principality’s school pupils and students in the end-of-year exams
Pupils in the Principality once again achieved excellent results in the 2024-2025 end-of-year examinations, with pass rates for both the Baccalaureate high school diploma and the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) middle school assessment underlining the high standards of education on offer for young people in Monaco.
Baccalaureate: a near-perfect record
After the second round of examinations, the overall pass rate was 99.52%, a remarkable result and a testament to the sterling efforts of the Principality’s students and teachers.
More than 320 pupils across all streams passed their Baccalaureate with honours, with 76 being awarded highest honours (“Mention Très bien”), eight of whom also received a special commendation from the jury.
Breakdown of results by discipline:
- General category (Lycée Albert Ier and Lycée François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré):
- 99.66% pass rate, with 246 pupils (83.11%) awarded honours:
- 65 pupils passed with “Mention Très Bien” (highest honours), including six with a commendation from the jury
- 93 pupils passed with “Mention Bien” (high honours)
- 88 pupils passed with “Mention Assez Bien” (honours)
- 99.66% pass rate, with 246 pupils (83.11%) awarded honours:
- Technological category:
- 100% pass rate, with 33 pupils (64.71%) awarded honours:
- 8 pupils passed with “Mention Bien” (high honours)
- 25 pupils passed with “Mention Assez Bien” (honours)
- 100% pass rate, with 33 pupils (64.71%) awarded honours:
- Professional category (Lycée Rainier III):
- 98.53% pass rate, with 47 pupils (69.12%) awarded honours:
- 11 pupils passed with “Mention Très Bien” (highest honours), including two with a commendation from the jury
- 19 pupils passed with “Mention Bien” (high honours)
- 17 pupils passed with “Mention Assez Bien” (honours)

Higher education: yet more impressive results
Students in higher education also achieved exemplary results with very high pass rates:
- 100% pass rate for the BTS Support for Managerial Activities programme
- 100% pass rate for the BTS Accounting & Management programme
- 94.12% pass rate for the BTS Hotel & Catering programme, with 16 of the 17 candidates awarded the qualification.
Diplôme National du Brevet: well-deserved success
Pupils sitting the DNB examination in 2025 also achieved fine results:
- 381 of the 404 candidates passed the examination, a pass rate of 94.31%.
- 346 candidates achieved honours, including 173 with the highest honours (“Mention Très Bien”).
- A sizeable cohort of pupils excelled themselves, with 56 being awarded a special commendation from the jury, a new addition to this year’s grading scheme designed to reward those who achieve the most outstanding results.
The Prince’s Government warmly congratulates this year’s successful candidates for the dedication and hard work that made these impressive results possible. The Government also pays tribute to the exceptionally high standards of teaching at the Principality’s schools, and conveys its profound appreciation for the efforts of all educators and administrative staff.
