Monaco’s honorary consuls in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg gather at Embassy in Belgium
On Tuesday 12 July 2022, Monaco’s Embassy in Belgium held its annual meeting, bringing together all of Monaco’s honorary consuls in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
During the meeting, Monaco’s Ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, H.E. Mr Frédéric Labarrère, and his team presented to the honorary consuls highlights from Monaco in 2021 and the first six months of 2022. The Prince’s Government’s environmental and digital priorities, aimed at strengthening the Principality’s attractiveness, were also discussed. The meeting offered participants the opportunity to share views on the global geopolitical situation and developments in the negotiations on an association agreement between Monaco and the European Union.
Finally, with this year marking a hundred years since the death of Prince Albert I, H.E. Mr Robert Fillon, who chairs the committee responsible for commemorating this centenary, gave a presentation by videoconference about the life and work of the Prince, which was of great interest to the audience.
The Principality of Monaco currently has three consulates in Belgium (Antwerp, Liège and Ostend), two in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague) and one in Luxembourg.
