Monaco’s Embassy in France celebrates the 20th anniversary of the accession to the throne of H.S.H. Prince Albert II

On Thursday 10 July 2025, Monaco’s Ambassador in France and Andorra H.E. Ms Valérie Bruell-Melchior hosted a reception for the 20th anniversary of the accession to the throne of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, joined by H.E. Ms Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, the Principality’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO.

Nearly 350 guests attended the event, including representatives from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Apostolic Nuncio, several Ambassadors accredited to Monaco in residence in Paris, Ambassadors to UNESCO and many other public figures in the Parisian diplomatic sphere with whom the Principality has close ties.

Representatives of international organisations and public figures from civil society also attended the reception, along with elected Monegasque officials in Paris that evening.

Highlighting the quality of the partnership between France and Monaco – illustrated by the official visit by the President of the French Republic on 7 and 8 June – H.E. Ms Bruell-Melchior recalled the Principality’s commitment to the rule of law and human rights in all circumstances, as well as to the search for peaceful solutions to disputes.

She also reaffirmed the Principality’s determination to help solve major global challenges by highlighting ideas discussed at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in relation to sustainable ocean management.

To underline the special occasion represented by the 20th anniversary of the reign of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince Albert II, a tribute was paid to His efforts for His Country, which offered Monaco stability as well as harmonious and open development.
