Monaco at the Inauguration of the 1st Plaque to Mark the Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Sites
Today, in Menton, the Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Sites Association inaugurated the first town entrance plaque of the Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Sites, in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, Honorary President Jean-Claude Guibal, Mayor of Menton, the Founder and President of the association, and many dignitaries.*
This plaque is the first to mark a trail featuring several towns that have joined the Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Sites Association as former Grimaldi historic sites.
This aim of this association, which was founded in 2015 on the occasion of celebrations to mark the tricentenary of the Alliance between the Grimaldi and Matignon families, is to create a network of former Grimaldi sites that bear witness to the friendship between France and Monaco. Its mission is to valorise and promote these places at the cultural, heritage and touristic levels.
In this respect, the first "Meeeting of the Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Sites" will be held on 23 and 24 June. In honour of Crown Prince Jacques, Marquis of Baux and Princess Gabriella, Countess of Carladès, the village of Les Baux de Provence and the region of Carladès, with the town of Menton, will be the first representatives of the former Grimaldi of Monaco sites to present their cultural and craft heritage and shared history in the Principality.
