Monaco Week Sydney Exhibition on the Prince Albert II Foundation
As part of "Monaco Week Sydney," which celebrates the 10th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Principality of Monaco and Australia, the Embassy of Monaco and the Honorary Consulate in Sydney jointly organised an exhibition on the Prince Albert II Foundation. This exhibition, which opened on 19 September, aims to raise the Australian public's awareness of the Prince Albert II Foundation and its work. The exhibition is on display for a week on the campus of the University of New South Wales.
At the opening of the exhibition, H.E. Ms. Catherine Fautrier, Ambassador of Monaco to Australia, and Professor Tim Flannery, a Board Member of the Albert II Foundation, gave a presentation to the guests on the Foundation's various areas of work, including the collaboration between the Principality of Monaco and Australia that has been ongoing for several years on issues related to environmental protection.
The Prince Albert II Foundation and Monaco Scientific Centre are supporting and providing expertise to the TARA PACIFIC expedition, which is studying the impact of climate change on the oceans and marine biodiversity. When the TARA was in Sydney from August 18 to 22, several round tables and conferences were held to take stock of the studies conducted by the TARA Pacific team.
Still in the field of environmental protection, the "Monaco Explorations" campaign, launched recently in the Principality, will also study interactions between species and the human impact on marine biodiversity. It should be noted that the YERSIN is expected to cruise off the coast of Australia in late 2018.
