"Monaco Makes a Commitment" - Energy Transition and Quality of Life

application/pdf Affiche-Monaco sengage (835.20 kB)

The staff of the Ministry of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development are focusing on two main areas:  energy transition, with the Principality's move towards a low-carbon society, and quality of life, on which Monegasques and residents place great importance, and which is central to our country's attractiveness.

It is in this context that the Mission for Energy Transition is holding the "Monaco Makes a Commitment" ("Monaco s'engage") meetings, between 29 May and 20 July, in six districts of the Principality.

This direct contact with the Monegasque population will make it possible to provide answers to the most frequently asked questions about infrastructure, subsidies and the solutions proposed by the Principality to address the three themes of energy transition, namely mobility, energy and waste.

It will also make it possible to collect individual signatures for the National Pact on Energy Transition and enter into a dialogue on quality of life.

Four stands will be available to the public:  one for each of the main energy transition themes and a fourth devoted to collecting new signatures for the Pact and a committed approach to quality of life.

To organise these "Monaco Makes a Commitment" meetings, the Mission for Energy Transition worked closely with the departments and entities concerned:  waste stand (DAU, SMA, Monaco City Hall/MC2D);  mobility stand (DPUM, DE, CAM, Mobee) and energy stand (SMEG, SMBP).

In addition, a team from PLURICITE will conduct interviews with volunteers on their feelings, needs and expectations with regard to quality of life in Monaco.  The answers obtained will make it possible to make an analysis and propose actions aimed at improving the quality of life.  At the end of the process, a report on the study will be published.

Finally, for these informal meetings, the "La Boîte de jeux" association has also created several games of increasing difficulty that will allow everyone, whatever their age, to broaden their knowledge of Monaco's energy transition and win eco-responsible prizes (such as snack boxes, edible straws, cloth bread bags, etc.).

"Monaco Makes a Commitment" will be held in six districts of the Principality, on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 29 May, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.:  Carrefour shopping mall
  • Tuesday 4 June, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.:  Monte-Carlo market and 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.:  Forecourt of the École St Charles
