Tourism in the Principality : review and strategy for 2025
On 18 March 2025, the Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority presented its 2024 activity report along with its prospects and strategy for 2025, to the Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr Pierre-André Chiappori and representatives of Monegasque institutions.
The event was held at the Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel and welcomed the region’s tourism industry stakeholders. This annual meeting is the occasion to assess the attractiveness of Monaco as a tourist destination and anticipate future trends.
Of note in 2024, hotel occupancy rates improved by three points and average prices increased by 5% from the previous year. This growth is attributable to a dynamic business tourism sector that has bounced back after being hit sharply by the pandemic.
Mr Guy Antognelli, Director of the Tourist and Convention Authority, provided details on strategic orientations for 2025, with a particular focus on ramping up marketing initiatives for nearby markets in the second half of the year. He explained: “The Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority is working to sustain dynamic business on long-haul growth markets like the United States and the Middle East, which are the most profitable segments for Monaco. We are also working to develop business from European visitors during less busy periods.”
Also during the event, Mr Pierre-André Chiappori was officially awarded the Best European Destination 2025 award won by the Principality of Monaco on 18 February. It was an opportunity to congratulate and thank all those who work in Monaco’s tourism sector.
