Minister of Health and Social Affairs Didier Gamerdinger visited the Office of Occupational Medicine to meet all of the teams there on Tuesday 22 March 2022. He was greeted by the Office’s director, Ms Pascale Pallanca.

A trusted advisory service for employers and employees on occupational health and hazards in the workplace, the Office of Occupational Medicine comprises a multidisciplinary team including medical, prevention, administrative and IT teams.

The visit was an opportunity to highlight the specific work done by various parts of the Office during the COVID-19 pandemic and how each team adapted to the unprecedented situation.

The doctors, assistants and nurses have been in high demand from both employers and employees, and have all shown versatility in their work. Staff specialising in the prevention of workplace risks have seen their roles expand in terms of advising on the adoption of best health practices.

Over the last two years, there have been changes to the Office’s normal operations, but this has helped to strengthen trust between the Office, employers and employees.

At the end of the visit, Didier Gamerdinger was keen to note “the key role played by the Office of Occupational Medicine in supporting the Principality’s employees and employers on a daily basis to ensure wellbeing in the workplace.
