Covid-19: One hundred and eight new positive cases and one death on Tuesday 4 January

One hundred and eight new positive cases of Covid-19 were revealed on Tuesday 4th January.

The health balance sheet for the Principality thus amounts to 5397 people affected by the coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

The death of an 86 year old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus is to be deplored. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 health crisis, 40 residents of the Principality have died after being contaminated by the virus. The Government of Monaco reminds the importance of being vaccinated against Covid-19. To date, the vaccine is the most effective solution to protect oneself and others. Vaccination is available free of charge to Monegasques and residents.

The Government of Monaco sends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this painful time.

This evening, 45 people are being cared for at the CHPG: 39 people, including 18 residents, are hospitalised. Six other patients, including one resident, are being treated in intensive care.

There were 71 additional recoveries. The total number of people healed is 4858.

As of Tuesday evening, 327 people are being monitored by the Home Monitoring Centre, which provides medical support to patients with few symptoms who are advised to stay at home.

In order to comply with the practices adopted by the World Health Organisation and neighbouring countries in this matter, this daily report shows only resident persons affected by the coronavirus.
