Covid-19 : A Hundred and Forty-Four New Positive Cases and 117 Recoveries on Friday 21 January
A hundred and forty-four new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 21 January.
This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 7,304 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.
This evening, 45 people are being treated at the CHPG: 40 people, 26 of whom are residents, are provided inpatient care. Five other patients, two of whom are residents, are in intensive care.
There are 117 further recoveries to be noted. The total number of people who have recovered is 6,708.
This Friday evening, 389 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.
In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.
With regard to the vaccination strategy, as of 16 January 2022, more than 73,381 vaccine injections have been administered. Seventy per cent of the resident population eligible for the vaccine have received the complete vaccination schedule. This rate is greater than or equal to 60% for all age groups from 18 years upwards. It is more than 80% among 55-64-year-olds and exceeds 94% among those aged 75 and over.
