Covid-19 : A Hundred and Eight New Positive Cases and 136 Recoveries on Monday 24 January

A hundred and eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Monday 24 January.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 7,691 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

Sadly, a 75-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 has died.  Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, 46 residents have died after contracting the virus.

The Prince's Government extends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

This evening, 57 people are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital:  55 people, 37 of whom are residents, are provided in-patient care.  Two other patients, one of whom is a resident, are in intensive care.

There are 136 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered thus amounts to 7,088.

This Monday evening, 396 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

The Prince's Government is also communicating the figures relating to testing.  These figures are as of Monday 24 January inclusive.

• Number of tests carried out on resident and non-resident patients between 17/01 and 24/01 inclusive:  9,258 PCR and antigen tests.
• Rate of positive tests carried out on residents and non-residents:  14.65 %.
• Incidence rate, i.e. the number of persons testing positive per 100,000 persons over the past seven days:  2,157 (1,953 last week).
