Covid-19: 43 new positive cases and one death on Saturday 1st January

Forty-three new positive cases of Covid-19 were revealed this Saturday 1st January.

This brings the total number of people affected by the coronavirus in the Principality to 5210 since the beginning of the health crisis.

The death of a 73 year old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus is to be deplored. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 health crisis, 39 people residing in the Principality have died after being contaminated by the virus. The Government of Monaco reminds people of the importance of being vaccinated against Covid-19. To date, the vaccine is the most effective solution to protect oneself and others. Vaccination is available free of charge to Monegasques and residents.
The Government of Monaco sends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this painful time.

This evening, 34 people are being cared for at the CHPG: 29 people, including 11 residents, are hospitalised. Five other patients, including one resident, are being treated in intensive care.

There were 54 additional recoveries. The total number of people healed is 4690.

On Saturday evening, 407 people are being monitored by the Home Monitoring Centre, which provides medical support to patients with few symptoms who are advised to stay at home.

In order to comply with the practices adopted by the World Health Organisation and neighbouring countries in this matter, this daily report shows only resident persons affected by the coronavirus.
