COVID-19: six new positive cases and 13 recoveries on Tuesday 17 August

Six new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Tuesday 17 August.

This brings the Principality’s total coronavirus cases since the beginning of the health crisis to 3,080.

This evening, 24 patients are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital. 21 patients, nine of whom are residents, are provided in-patient care; three further persons, two of whom are residents, are in intensive care. 

Thirteen further recoveries have been reported, bringing the total number of people who have so far recovered to 2,935.

This Tuesday evening, 53 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-Up Centre, which offers medical support to those with minor symptoms who are asked to self-isolate at home.

In accordance with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this area, this daily update reports coronavirus cases among residents only.

The Prince’s Government is also releasing figures relating to testing. These figures include data up to Sunday 15 August inclusive.

-        Number of tests carried out on residents and non-residents between 09/08 and 15/08 inclusive: 6,084 PCR and antigen tests.

-        Positivity rate of tests carried out on residents and non-residents: 3.11%.

-        Incidence rate, i.e. the number of positive tests per 100,000 people over the past seven days: 190.35 (247.72 last week).
