This week, the recently renovated Blood Transfusion Centre at the CHPG was host to the coach of AS Monaco Football Club, Leonardo Jardim, for a blood donation.

The aim of this action, which also took place in connection with the Agreement between the Government and the Principality's professional football club, was to raise awareness of this important health issue among ASM FC's supporters.

"It's a great honour to receive Leonardo Jardim here today.  It is very important for us to associate blood donation with sport, said a delighted Dr. Anne Gouverner-Valla, Head of the CHPG's Blood Transfusion Centre. "I hope this will help us to attract as many donors as possible.  I hope many people will come and support AS Monaco on Saturday and give blood before the match," she stated.

On 13 April 2019, a blood donation session will be held in front of the Louis II Stadium, prior to the match at 8 p.m. between AS Monaco and Stade de Reims, as part of the 32nd day of Ligue 1.

Thus, from 4 p.m. until the kick off, volunteer donors will be able to go to the mobile blood collection unit on the forecourt (just next to AS Monaco's Shop Truck) to give blood.

Every year, 5,000 donations of blood are needed for the 800 patients who receive blood transfusions in the Principality.  Giving blood is a simple, generous and responsible act of solidarity, for which there is no substitute in the current state of science.
